Who am I? There are many terms to define who I am. I am a third grade teacher at an A+ elementary school and a part time graduate student. I am a Christian. I am a wife. I am the dog mom of two amazing puppies, Rylee and Oliver. I am a runner, avid traveler, lover of books, and an over enthusiast. I try to see the best in everyone, no matter the situation. I have a bubbly personality and try to befriend anyone I meet. Just like my grandmother, no one is a stranger to me. I’d love for you to follow me on Instagram (@mrspitmansclassroom) and Twitter (@mrskaylapitman).
What I Like
There are so many things that I like. First off, I love God with my whole heart. I am a part of Grace Church in Hickory, North Carolina, and I love my church. My husband and I are always hanging out with our church family and love being involved with events connected to it. I love my family. We love to meet every Saturday for coffee and catch up on our week. Next, I love to travel! I have been to over thirteen different countries (Bahamas, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, Italy, Spain, England, France, Germany, Puerto Rico, St. Marteen, St. Kitts, Turks and Caicos) and hope to go to many more. I also love to work out and live an active lifestyle. Every week, you will find me in the gym or outside running with my dogs. My husband and I train to run 5k’s every so often. We love taking our dogs on a hike as well.

What I Dislike
As odd as it sounds, I have never been a fan of chocolate or ice cream. I am not a fan of long rides in a car, as I get extremely car sick. I do not like hamburgers, Dr. Pepper, or Cheerwine. Honestly, it was hard to find a lot of things that I do not like because I try to have a more positive outlook on life and there are rarely things I do not like.
How I Look
First off, I am one hundred percent happy with the way God made me. He made me exactly how he wanted me. I am a petite, blonde headed woman with blue eyes. My eyes tend to change colors, from blue to green, depending on my mood. I look identical to the way my mom did growing up, minus her brown hair. Many people who meet me for the first time think that I am in high school still, but are shocked when I tell them that I am finishing my fourth year of teaching. I have an athletic build, primarily because of my hard work and dedication to athletics and working out over the years. My goal is to be even more toned than I am now.

My Personality
Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a bubbly personality. I always try to see the best in people and things. I try to be a positive and happy influence on both my students and others I come into contact with. I have a kind and compassionate heart for others and their situations. When someone is having a bad day or something wrong is going on in their life, I really hurt with them and feel their pain. I have a heart for people and try to go out of my way to help them in any way possible. Finally, I believe I am a leader. I have never been much of a follower, unless the situation calls for it. I have always been content to do work independently on tasks at hand, but have also been willing to lead others if need be.
